Beautiful materials have been incorporated into pieces of art to produce work that captures the childlike magic and beauty of the world.

African birds leave us wondering whether nature plays games; fantasizing in colours and playing with our senses.

Flamingos, pelicans, crowned cranes and secretary birds provide inspiration for the mosaics.  These quirky birds are drawn, painted and then translated into a mosaic.  Many hours are spent trying to find the right media for eyes, feathers and feet.

The range of trucks was influenced by Mexican folk art.  The wheels are made up from ladybirds, clay star beads from Kenya, Vietnamese buttons and many other materials that have been collected from my round the world travels creating original and innovative pieces of art.

Other materials used in the mosaics include vitreous tiles, broken china, beads, shells, marbles, glass, coloured glass, gold, earrings, mirror and smalti.

(Smalti is the result of molten glass poured onto a pizza-like slab, and hand-cut into uneven tesserae.  The beauty of smalti is in its imperfection.  Bubbles, variations of color and uneven surface give the mosaic 'painting' life and exuberance).
